As of August 2020, Lale ("La-Leh") and Ronin are taking on Cedar Pines Ranch, in Southern Oregon. In Summer 2022, we re-named to Suncatcher Food Forest. We are carrying Nicole's creative spirit forward, offering new vigor, and texture to the land, that will further beautify this little piece of heaven. The long-term design aspirations for Suncatcher Food Forest is to continue to evolve and propagate a permaculture landscape paradise, where we can integrate with nature, peacefully recreate, and develop greater relations with the surrounding community. Lale is determined to grow and fruit the first ever cacao tree in Oregon! Stay tuned!

We are stewards of the land and biodynamic farmers. In an industry that rewards monoculture, we are passionately dedicated to biodiversity and regenerative agriculture. We reserve at least 60% of our acres to native species and conservation. Our efforts contribute to clean water, healthier soil, better crops, a more vibrant ecology, a pristine brain-gut-microbiome axis, and a strong community.

Lale’s name means “tulip” and she looks forward to showering the existing tulips on the property with her love, and of course, water!

Ballerina Turned Farm Girl
"Hi, My name is Nicole and I call Cedar Pines Ranch my home, where I live with my husband Mike and my two dogs Tank and Bailey. I moved to Oregon in 2014. Prior to living in Oregon, I lived in Southern California where I danced for a ballet company. I began dancing at the age of 5 and continued until I retired, as a principal ballerina,at the ripe old age of 38. During my career, I had the extreme privilege of dancing many roles. I have performed as Clara in the Nutcracker Suite to Swanilda in Coppelia. For my retirement dance (pictured here), I had the privilege of honoring our Marine Corp by dancing to the Marine Hymn (on their birthday no less). I could have died happy that night). I have 4 gorgeous Children 23, 21, 19 and 15 and 2 step Children 23 and 20 with the first grandbaby due in October. Beyond excited about her arrival. I love God, our beautiful country and our
Flag.

"So how does a ballerina turn farmer you might ask?!? Well I also love to bake and create.

"So when my husband and I found this property, it had everything we wanted an Orchard, pasture, garden, pond and creek with trees galore. The previous owners had passed a way a few years back so the property sat sorely neglected and in bad shape. After some much needed love and desperately needed attention, we have brought her back to life. With my first harvest being so minimal due to the neglect, I began canning and thought "awwww my family is just going to love these Christmas presents". Year two after water, pruning, attention and lots of love the trees were so happy they were like "yay" someone loves us, here is 730 lbs of plums (that was just 2 plum trees) not to mention the apples, pears and cherries. The apples were so delighted to be loved again they actually grew in hearts.  I cant make this stuff up. Thus began my adventure into the fun world of jams, jellies, preserves and more. Cedar Pines Ranch is home to an array of Apple trees from baking to juicing with 2 of the oldest apples trees on The Creek (they are A-mazing and I wish they could talk .. Oh the stories they would tell), Plums, Pears, Cherries, Peach and Apricot trees. A berry patch with Marion Berry (the Oregon Berry) Raspberry, Blueberry, Tayberry and Huckleberry. A gorgeous pumpkin patch and fantastic garden all that back up to BLM land. As I grow and produce all my own products on Cedar Pines Ranch I am considered Farm Direct by the State of Oregon.

Thank you for visiting my website and thank you for supporting a local farmer." - Nicole
